They are now seeking dedicated Waste Operatives to join their growing team.

Waste Operative (Nights)

Location: Ilkeston, Derbyshire
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour (£14.30 overtime rate after 40 hours)
Hours of Work:

• 17:00pm-02:00am

(Minimum of 50 hours per week required)

Please note:
This role involves working with waste and recyclable materials and may include exposure to dusty or unclean environments. Due to the location and shift times, own transport is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate on a picking line to identify and separate recyclable materials.
• Undertake manual handling and general labouring duties across the yard or picking station.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all site safety and hygiene standards.
• Follow all health and safety procedures to minimise risk when handling materials.
• Conduct routine visual inspections of equipment and report any issues promptly.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to meet daily performance targets (KPIs).
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions as required by the role.

Person Specification

• Essential: Access to reliable transport due to site location and shift hours.
• Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual labour.
• Strong work ethic with a positive and reliable attitude.
• Willingness to work in a physically demanding and outdoor environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Previous experience within recycling, waste management, or a labouring role is advantageous but not essential.
