Enter 2023…

As the new year began, Sky Recruitment Solutions entered its tenth year of trading.

In acknowledgment of this, a business wide review was hosted in Sheffield, by the managing director David Torrington, to reflect on the previous year and develop a clear vision for the one ahead.

When asked about his thoughts for 2023, David said

“I always look forward to a new year, energised and ready to start work on our plans – and January 2023 proved to be a great month for Sky Recruitment Solutions and Capella Professional. With some of our locations hitting record figures, new contracts, and new staff joining the team, I am optimistic for the year ahead”.

New Year, New Structure

As we enter a new year and continue to experience staggering business growth, Hannah Blount, business support manager, took over the management of our central function, growing her team from two to four.

By supporting finance, accounts, purchasing, and marketing, the central function will enable our branches to take on a more focused approach to recruitment, ensuring our clients and candidates continue to receive gold standard service.

When discussing this change, Hannah’s excitement was evident as she explained

“The internal restructure of the central function allows for a more streamlined process across the business. It will increase productivity and make things clearer & more transparent for everyone”.

Hannah also stated she was grateful to have been given this opportunity and is looking forward to seeing the positive impact this change will have. We share Hannah’s enthusiasm and wish the central function team all the best.

Capella Professional Expands

Capella Professional continues to grow with their appointment of a new business manager.

Tom Sellars joins their head office in Nottingham from a vast background in recruitment. He is excited to work alongside the current Senior Account Manager, Jody Blaylock, to continue Capella Professionals development.

Beckie Elliott, regional business manager for Capella, was enthusiastic about the change stating

“Capella Professional is exceeding its targets, our teamwork, drive, and overall ambition is pushing us to ‘reach for the stars’. Tom joining the team as Business Manager will offer a further skillset, coming from a talent background. His extensive knowledge and determination will allow us to further expand our brand keep reaching our goals”.

We wish Tom the best of luck in his new position.

Good news for the month

A new staff-benefit was introduced for the Sky Recruitment Solutions and Capella Professional team. Gym Pass is available for all employees, enabling them to remain fit and well.

It has already been utilised by most in the business in just its first month, including Michael Treharne, business manager for the Ripley branch. He is using it to combine is love of fun and sport to keep him moving throughout the week.

We are grateful to Karen Ward, our dedicated project manager, for her continued work focused on the overall health and wellbeing of our team’s.

Employee Corner

Ali Parvez, recruitment consultant for the Derby branch, manages an 11 a side men’s football team called Willington FC 1st Team.

Being brought up by a family who love football and playing as a young boy, Ali does this out of enjoyment. Unfortunately, after suffering from an ACL tear last year Ali is on the waiting list for a knee operation. Whilst he has been unable to play this season, he is grateful for the opportunity to experience managing a team.

The team currently play in the MRA Premier Division and sit 4th in the league out of 14. With a diverse round-up, the squad includes a professional boxer and national break-dancer.

With sponsorship from Sky Recruitment Solutions and Capella Professional, the team can continue training and playing matches – hopefully pushing them to the top of the league.
